About me

I am a qualified counsellor graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor in Applied Social Science in Counselling from Sydney’s Jansen Newman Institute. I am also certified in Mental Health First Aid and continue my professional development by regularly attending workshops and events.

I am originally from South Lanarkshire, however my passion for travel took me to Australia where I resided for almost 13 years. It was during this time I decided to leave the corporate world and embark on my true passion which is helping people through the difficulties in their lives. This stems from my own challenges with panic/anxiety disorder during adolescence, an experience which enables me to offer a deeper level of understanding and empathy to my clients.

I apply a person-centred and existential approach to therapy which offers core conditions such as genuineness, empathy and understanding in a non-judgemental and safe environment. However, based on presenting issues I may also draw upon strategies from various other modalities such as CBT and Narrative therapy.
